The launch follows the successful technical upgrade of CPN’s bunker tanker, Guo Si, which has become Hong Kong’s first Type II certified bunker tanker dedicated to B100 marine biodiesel operations.
This development represents a key step forward in CPN’s decarbonization roadmap, building on the company’s commencement of B30 marine biofuel supply in April 2025. Through the comprehensive upgrade of Guo Si, carried out in full compliance with the IMO IBC Code and Hong Kong Cap. 413E, CPN has established the specialized infrastructure required for the safe, reliable, and compliant handling of pure marine biofuels.
The upgraded Guo Si is currently the only Type II certified bunker tanker in the region approved for B100 marine biodiesel supply, positioning CPN at the forefront of marine biofuel readiness in Hong Kong.
The launch underscores CPN’s commitment to delivering practical and advanced decarbonization solutions for the maritime industry. By combining regulatory certainty, operational reliability, and dedicated infrastructure, CPN is enabling shipowners and operators to advance their sustainability objectives with confidence.
